How to Register for the Do Not Call List

If you are receiving unwanted phone calls from telemarketers, register for the national Do Not Call List to end, or at least minimize, this harassment.

Under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Do Not Call List allows you to block solicitation calls to your cell phone, your home, or your workplace. However, the Do Not Call List only covers commercial telemarketers. The list does not block organizations you've already done business with, have given written permission to, or that are not commercial or are tax-exempt.

You can register up to three phone numbers on the Do Not Call list for free, including cell phone numbers. To register:

You will be asked to enter the phone numbers you wish to register and a valid email address. You will then receive a validation email. Click on the link in this email within 72 hours. Once your registration is verified, telemarketers have 31 days to remove your number from their systems.
